Programs for Pigs

Bivit offers the pig farmer and the feed industry a total approach for the optimization of their feed programs. Advanced products and appropriate advice based on scientific research and lifelong experience guarantee the best feeding strategy resulting in maximum yield. The pig program includes custom made products from complete feeds to premixes for sows, piglets and fattening pigs.

Sows

The production cycle of the sow can be divided in different phases. The requirements (energy, protein, fat, minerals, vitamins) and the production purpose (piglets, milk, recovery of body condition) differ depending on the sow’s stage in the production cycle. Based on scientific insights BIVIT developed a three stage sow program. This program includes two gestation premixes, a special farrowing premix and a lactation premix. Feeding is adapted to the requirements of the sow through modulation of feed quantity, raw material choice and additive supplementation. Depending on the sow’s physiological stage the focus is on ovulation number, embryo survival, sows condition, birth weight, farrowing ease, piglet’s vitality, weaning number and weaning weight.
For each production stage the optimal energy supply will be modified through different proportions of glucogenic (starch and sugars) and lipogenic (fat and fermentable raw materials) energy sources. The protein metabolism of the sow is optimized by formulation on individual amino acids, this also applies to the fat metabolism where the specific needs of individual fatty acids are taken into account. Different equilibriums like calcium/ phosphor and electrolyte balance determine the whole sow’s metabolism so that these factor are also taken into account when formulating. All sow’s premixes contain an optimized vitamin, trace element, mineral and amino acid content. The BIVIT sow program is developed for the progressive pig farmer who wants to maximize the use of his sows genetic potential in a sustainable and economic way. The products of the sow program can be custom made depending on the specific needs of the pig farmer or feed mill.

Piglets

The Bivit starter program is developed to guide the piglets without problems through their first weeks of life. The piglet after all has to adapt to a strongly changing environment, the weaning period being the most critical period.  Good feeding practices around the period of weaning can save the pig farmer a lot of money.
A low feed intake or unsuitable feed can cause lower growth, breakout of diseases, high mortality.  Knowledge of the digestion process is crucial when formulating piglet feed.  Taking into account that the digestion of the piglet at the moment of weaning is still in full development we choose for specific raw materials with high digestibility very similar to the milk diet of the piglet in the suckling phase.  After weaning, the digestive capacity of the piglet develops very quickly, so more classic raw materials like grains and soya can also be served.  In the Bivit concept these cheaper raw materials are used optimally in the following growing phases, taking into account the specific needs and digestive capability of the piglet. Through the choice of raw materials and additives, the intestinal health can be stimulated and the growth can been optimized.  Special attention is given to the taste of the feed.  The use of tasty ingredients and the addition of aromas guarantee a good feed intake and a smooth start after weaning.  Besides this all the starters have an optimal vitamin and a balanced mineral and amino acid level.  The Bivit starter program enables the farmer to safely exploit the piglet’s growth potential in order to achieve a maximal economic yield.  Bivit develops complete and premix starters, based on the same principles and according to the client specific needs. Economical yield is essential to the modern pig farmer.  This yield is mainly influenced by the feed as it represents the largest part of the cost and largely influences the technical results.

Pigs

The modern pig farmer considers economical profitability of paramount importance.  This profitability is strongly determined by feed, since feeding represents the biggest cost and strongly influences the technical results.
Bivit develops specific premixes for pigs.  Besides an optimum vitamin and trace elements supply, particular attention is paid to the optimization of the energy level, amino acids balance and mineral content.  The composition of the premix depends on the raw materials choice. Seeing that the supply and especially the prices of raw materials constantly fluctuate, the premixes are changed according to the market circumstances. Optimization of growth and feed conversion is aspired without affecting meat and carcass quality in a negative way. The premixes can be custom made according to the client’s specific needs and potential.
